We are tasting, a Chilean wine, which I’ve bought from the wine shop called Lavinia, in Madrid. This is Valdivieso Chardonnay, from 2013 and produced in Valle del Curico, which is situated in center of Chile, south of Santiago. The price of the bottle is 8 €.
This wine is produced in stainless steel tanks and after fermentation it is aged 3 months on their lees, but some of the wine is fermented in French oak barrels.
Firstly, I was it has a pale yellow color which comes from its youth but very clean and bright. In the nose, as I was expected it was really rich; the aromas of tropical fruits are dancing in a complete harmony with elegant lactic aromas, and in the end white flowers comes out in the last scene. Finally in the mouth, it is pleasant and fresh.
After the tasting, as a suggestion of serving, I am sharing you my food-wine marriage; with sea-food. This is a highly recomendanded combination, I would like to say!
Cheers!
